Spring is here, massage away those winter blues.
Hello! Spring is finally here! When the flowers and plants bloom, we often have an inner growth as well.  Just as seasons change, our spirits adapt with the weather.  Many people experience SAD, seasonal affective disorder, in the winter.  There are many things that can help get out of the “winter funk” and keep mood and motivation healthy in the spring.  Of course, getting out and getting a little vitamin D from the sunshine helps.  We need to take care of our emotional and psychological wellness in order to stay healthy and stress free.  Massage therapy is a wonderful way to aid in this process.  Many of us do not realize the need for touch.  Massage provides a sense of calm, peace and soothing.   We feel more confident and self assured by receiving touch.  Touch reduces stress and creates a contented feeling by releasing serotonins into the body.  Serotonin can be thought as the happy chemical.  Serotonin is one of the neurotransmitters released by the brain.  Serotonin helps control our mood.  We can feel emotionally zapped in the winter.  Getting a massage and experiencing touch lifts the mood to help us blossom with the beauty of spring.  Plus, getting regular monthly massages can prevent depression and stress all year long!
